Sponsor a Tibetan Refugee

t-yTenzin Y. was born in 2014. Her father died before she was born and she is being taken care of by her grandmother. Her uncle is one of the lamas at the monastery in Bylakuppe.

We offer a sponsorship program to assist Tibetan refugee children, elders, nuns and monks in India, Bhutan and Nepal. Originally organized as the Tibetan Refugee Education Fund, the Amitabha Foundation has been facilitating sponsorship of needy Tibetans since 1995.

Families receiving support are identified by Ayang Rinpoche, who continually receives requests from parents requiring assistance to send their children to school. Many lay children and monks are currently waiting for sponsors.

Please consider making an annual pledge of $400 (including our 10% administrative fee). We will match you up with an individual lay child or deserving elder. You will receive their name and contact information so that you can establish an ongoing relationship, which we hope will build over the years. If you cannot commit to a long-term sponsorship, even a one-year pledge will help a family in need. If you would like to sponsor the monks at Rinpoche’s monastery, your offering will be spread among all the monks. You are also welcome to send your sponsorship directly to the family’s account or to the Drikung Charitable Society in India.

Make your pledge and sponsorship donation today by selecting your payment amount and clicking the PayPal button below. You may also send a check in USD made out to Amitabha Foundation to P.O. Box 2572, Aptos, California 95001.
