Vajrakilaya (Dorje Phurba) Drupchen October 12-18, 2018

At Ayang Rinpoche’s monastery in South India they will hold their annual Vajrakilaya Drupchen (Great Accomplishment puja), October 12-18, 2017. Vajrakilaya (Dorje Phurba) is one of the most effective yidam practices, which are the root of spiritual accomplishment. It is known in the Tibetan Buddhist world as the most powerful means of destroying the forces counteracting compassion and of purifying obscurations and negativity.  The phurba, or wisdom dagger, is a symbol of our unchangeable true nature of mind. Gen Tsewang Tharchin, Ayang Rinpoche’s brother and abbot of the monastery, says, “Vajrakilaya is the best practice to clear away any kind of obstacles.”

All the monastery’s lamas, monks, nuns and associated lay people in the community will do elaborate offering prayers and chant the Vajrakilaya mantra for seven full days. There will be no official count of the mantras, but everyone is encouraged to participate by chanting the mantra at home.

The total cost of the Drubchen is approximately $22,000. Dorje Phagmo (Vajrayogini)

A 7-day Drupchö (extensive prayer ceremony) for Dorje Phagmo, or Vajravarahi, a form of Vajrayogini, is being held through August 30, 2018 at Ayang Rinpoche’s monastery in Bylakuppe. Vajrayogini is one of the main deities for self-visualization in Ngöndro (preliminary practices) and other generation stage meditations practiced by all the lineages in Vajrayana Buddhism.

The main guardian deity of the Drikung Kagyu lineage, Achi Chökyi Drolma, is an emanation of Vajrayogini.

Ayang Rinpoche said about Vajrayogini: “Among all the wisdom dakinis, Vajrayogini is the highest. She represents the True Nature of Mind, Prajnaparamita, the mother of all the Buddhas of the 3 times and 10 directions.” (Sydney, March 2018)

Mandala of 42 Peaceful Deities	Mandala of 58 Wrathful Deities

From February 23-March 1, 2018, Ayang Rinpoche’s monastery in Bylakuppe, South India will hold the annual Shitro (100 Peaceful and Wrathful Deities) Puja to welcome in Losar (Tibetan New Year, February 16) and celebrate Chötrul Düchen (March 2). Chötrul Düchen is one of the four holy Buddhist festivals commemorating significant events in the life of the Buddha. During the first fifteen days of the new year, the Buddha displayed miracles for his disciples to increase their devotion. During this time, it is believed that the effects of positive actions are multiplied ten million times.

Ayang Rinpoche said about the 100 Peaceful and Wrathful Deities practice, “It is the essence of the 6,400,000 Dzogchen tantras, and merely hearing this teaching cuts through birth in the lower realms; merely understanding it causes one to travel to the ground of great bliss (mahasukha); bringing its meaning to mind causes one to accomplish the irreversible state of the spontaneously arisen awareness holder.  For everyone who connects with this teaching there will be great purpose and meaning.” H.E. Namsey, also known as Vaishravana, a form of the wealth deity Dzambhala

In this tenth lunar month, as 2017 and the year of the Fire Rooster is drawing to a close, Ayang Rinpoche’s monastery in India will hold its annual Wealth Deity Puja December 3-9, 2017.

A wealth deity puja, or Yangdrup, is an extensive ritual to generate “Yang”, the powerful magnetizing properties associated with fortune and luck. This in turn creates all opportunities to ensure accomplishment in spiritual practice, as well as an abundance of wealth, prosperity, success, good fortune, luck, long life and wisdom in a person’s personal, business and family life.

This year the annual Yangdrup will focus on Namsey, also known in Sanskrit as Vaishravana, a powerful god of wealth and fortune similar to the well-known Dzambhala. Lamas, monks and nuns at the monastery will also do Guru Rinpoche offering prayers during the Yangdrup.
